I'm a little confused by the telephone number format in Ireland, since it appears that not all locations use the same number of digits in the number. For instance, in Kinsale, the numbers are 021 1234567 a total of ten digits, but in Kenmare, the numbers are 064 12345 (a total of eight digits), and then in Dun Laoghaire, the numbers are 01 1234567 (at total of nine digits).
The way to ensure you can call a number anywhere in the world, from anywhere in the world, is to start with a plus sign, followed bybthe country code, followed by the number. For example, if you are given an Irish number 087 1234567, drop the leading zero and store the number as a contact as +353871234567. 2.
The format was 03 + STD code + local number. 08. Formerly used for Northern Ireland landlines (Now 048). e.g. Belfast 01232 xxx xxx was reached by dialling 08 01232 xxx xxx. 084. Formerly used for Belfast landlines. 10. National operator assistance (withdrawn in 2007) 114.
