   But, the fact that your hubby is a club member could help. We rented from Hertz in smaller airports (Jackson Hole, WY & Rapid City, SD) on two occasions, and we got what we requested. We have access to the Entertainment book coupons, and neither location accepted coupons. AAA was our only discount.

   I wouldn't expect an upgrade. We get upgraded from a super cheap car to a cheap car (for free) because that's what everyone wants and there are none left.. I wonder what you would have gotten if you hadn't paid more.

   Hertz only allows it on certain class rentals. National allows it on all rentals. And, because you can choose your own car, you CAN get results in a free upgrade if a larger car is available on the aisle. Bozeman is a very small airport. No garages. No aisles. No choosing your own car.

   For background, I have rented NUMEROUS vehicles..especially from Hertz (actually was a PC member for a long time).    I'm sorry, but a 2 1/2 to 3 hour wait anywhere, with any car company, is just beyond belief. Are you sure you were talking about Hertz and not Fox (they both have odd letters) - Hertz is very seldom used with "discounts" in the same breath, they (and Avis) are the full-priced, full service options that business travelers and rich people (like WD, lol) use (just joking WD).
