An epic pass would be good at Park city only. the options are bewildering, cheaper flavors of passes limit some mountains, blackout holidays, etc. You want to buy as soon as you can commit to the trip as prices keep rising until sales close in Dec.
Answer 11 of 22: Hi, We're a family of 5 from Singapore (myself, my wife and 3 kids aged 14, 12 and 9). We'll be spending 3 weeks in California in December, and we'd like to do some skiing the week before Christmas (Dec 19-24).
The Epic Pass does NOT have blackout dates and is actually good at a 3 European areas as well as many other US destinations. In Tahoe it would include Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood. We purchase the Epic Local Pass and work around the blackout dates. Last year Vail purchased a small local area near us and we can use the pass there to ski free!

Answer 1 of 3: We have an Epic Pass to Northstar, Heavenly, & Kirkwood and will be at Lake Tahoe at the end of January. We are all adults & advanced skiers & snowboarders.
Huge crowds again at Northstar this past weekend (February 5-7). This has nothing to do with COVID but rather the fact that Vail Resorts oversold season passes. Even with the new reservation system there were lift lines of 1 hour at the base and 20 minutes on the mountain. Lunch line was 30 minutes and food selection was mediocre.

Northstar and Heavenly are now owned by Vail and you can pick up a relatively inexpensive pass that is good at both (be sure to check out black out dates). The day pass price is rumored to be as high at $110 a day at each, while you can still pick up a Tahoe Local Epic pass (Northstar, Heavenly, Kirkwood) for about $460.
