15 years ago. Beware "Pig In A Poke" bookings! I just got burned by Hotwire. I booked a hotel at LAX in order to get rest before an allnight trip. After booking I learned (as is their normal procedures) that I would be staying at the Holiday Inn LAX. That sounded fine to me until I called the hotel directly to make a routine inquirey.
Maybe you can start your own thread, but by "finding" all the Hotwire threads and posting with the same rant, is also not per posting guidelines. As for the rant you seem to have, I travel up to 50-60% for work - and I do not see where 30% of rooms go unsold. Maybe as an average, but many times I've been in a hotel which was sold out.

I had an existing rental at Enterprise for about 6 months. 2 weeks before the trip I got the Hotwire deal and saved about $30 for the 10 days.

2/10 net 30 - this means the buyer must pay within 30 days of the invoice date, but will receive a 2% discount if they pay within 10 days of the invoice date. 3/7 EOM - this means the buyer will receive a cash discount of 3% if the bill is paid within 7 days after the end of the month indicated on the invoice date.
Hotwire tells us they sell rooms which would otherwise go unsold -- and, according to their Canadian TV ad -- their hotel prices are "up to 50% off" the regular rate. Although I have yet to see a discount of 50% off a Hotwire room. In any event, thanks for sharing your opinion.
