7 years ago. "Most car rental at Orlando airport have bad reviews". Not true, although every rental company has at least one or two disgruntled customers. Avis, Hertz and Alamo have good reputations. I have used Thrifty with no problems. However, you MUST join and use the company's loyalty program.
Last month, we rented a car from Budget at the Orlando airport for a one way trip up to St. Augustine.We made it 40 miles and the car broke down on I-4. We called the rental car roadside assistance at 9:00 am (having taken a redeye) and were told that the tow truck would be there between 11:20 and 11:50 and they would tow the car back to the airport and give us an Uber credit for a ride up to ...

If you can manage renting from a neighborhood rental location instead of an airport rental location, that will also save you a ton of money.

We always find such great discounts with Avis,Alamo,Budget and National that we would not take a chance with a lesser known company. We use Hotwire,Priceline or the codes on www.mousesavers.com-which we used for this week,midsize car from Alamo for $114/week.We only use companies at the airport,it is so easy to pick up and drop off the car.
