Re: Walking around United Centre. 6 years ago. I was around to the Chicago Stadium Days. The area was down right dangerous then; it's only iffy now. I'll walk from the Ashland Green line station but then I know what direction to walk. I wouldn't suggest walking around at night, especially if you don't know where you are.

You cannot make that connection between United (terminal 1) and American (terminal 3) You need 2.5 hours. 2 hours may be doable if your luggage is on the United carousel in 1/2 hour and TSA is fast at American. TSA is never fast.
