Here's that problem: I can play an Italian DVD coded for Region 2 on my laptop by agreeing to a message that is within Windows that says I can swap my DVD player code from Region 1 to Region 2, but, once I do that, I cannot then play any Region 1 DVDs!

When I bought my DVD player in Amsterdam I was told there were several regional specifications, and my player would not play American DVD's. I was also told that for a $10 fee my DVD player could be made to become "region free". Which I paid. Now I have no probs watching US DVD's.
