5. Re: Hertz Gold membership question. 6 years ago. No, you need to have the GR number on the reservation to qualify for the service, which basically means they pre- allocate a car to you which you can just go to the garage and drive off in, depending on the location arrangements.
12 years ago. I joined Hertz Gold Club earlier this year while they were offering it free of charge, and made a booking for a car for my holiday last 2 weeks of April. Upon arrival at MCO I switched on my mobile and received an E-mail from Hertz stating which car I had been allocated and in which bay it was located.
Join Hertz gold club free. Make your reservation discount if you have AAA. Arrive SFO follow sign for Hertz go directly to garage area. Look for your name on electronic board. See # next to name walk to car. You should be driving out of airport in 5 to 10 minutes approx.
With any of the Major Car Rental Companies, the best thing to do is sign up for the Frequent Renter Program, such as Hertz #1 Gold.Basically you do all the "paperwork" in advance at home, and in most locations, bypass the counter and go straight to your vehicle (Electronic Boards show which space it is located at), and then just show your drivers license to the Security Staff at the exit.
Hertz has another program that's free, but I can't remember what it's called right now.My husband signed up for it before we went to Maui and it worked out great. We were on a separate line and only had one person in front of us, while the other line had about 20 people waiting. Just go to the Hertz website and check it out.

You look at the board, find your name that has your parking spot number, find your car, then head for the exit. You hand the security person your DL and the documentation hanging from your mirror ...
In my opinion it's an easy process, especially if you rent from Hertz and use their free Gold Club membership. Then, you just take the monorail to the rental car center, walk to the Hertz section of the parking deck, walk straight to the car that's already been assigned to you, and drive away. No need to talk to an agent or stand in line.
8. Re: Hertz Gold at Ogg First timers. 5 years ago. Yes. From what it sounds like US residents are able to bypass the counter most times,gran their car and check out. I'm just wondering,since it looks like I will have to go inside, if there is a separate gold counter for verifying id.
