114 helpful votes. 2. Re: Using Google Maps / Orange Instead of GPS. 10 years ago. Google maps works well. Orange SIM cards work well also. I also downloaded IGOPrimo lite (not free) for the iPhone. Between IGOPrimo and Google maps I could always find what I was looking for. Please be aware though of the difficulties in using a GPS in Israel.
