    Mail merge is repeating labels. I am trying to print 1,800 shipping labels by merging excel to word. Everything works great all the way to previewing the first page of labels, all ten addresses are there and it looks fine. On page two, however, it is printing addresses 2-11, page three is printing addresses 3-12, page four prints address 4-13.

    Report abuse. In the Mail Merge Manager, you need to go to step 6 ("Complete Merge") and click either the Merge to Printer or Merge to New Document icon in there. Typically it is better to merge to a new document and check the output before printing, at least the first time you do it! (You are currently probably only "previewing" the merge.)

    In order to actually complete the merge, you have to use Edit Individual Documents (formerly better labeled Merge to New Document). There was an issue with the updating of labels in Office 2010, but as far as I know, it has been fixed. However, to deal with that issue, I created a MergeLabelFix add-in.

    Labels in Word are just tables, so you can use the facilities in the Table Tools>Design tab of the ribbon to set the required alignment of the merge fields. After doing that to the first label, you can use the Update Labels facility again to replicate the setup to the other labels.
