Yes, it is easy. To get to the Costco in Carolina, just go over the bridge as you exit the airport and then get onto RT 8 and that will take you to Costco. The bridge costs $3. On the way to Fajardo, take RT 3 until you can get onto RT 66 or just continue on RT 3 for no tolls (but more traffic/stoplights) Edited: 11 years ago.

I've used Avis many times, and had very good experiences. Avis is 1 of the 3 recommended agencies. I've never booked through Costco, but I wouldn't think there's a difference (other than price) than booking directly, or with another vendor.
Just wanted to follow up and say that in my car there was in fact no way to disable the transponder. It was a sticker, similar to the mini version of the Florida SunPass, rather than one of the hinged plastic versions that can be disabled. Alamo charged $4/day plus tolls, which is very high but not as bad as I've seen.
