Take the 494 bypass until it becomes the 694 bypass and then exit on Hwy 36 to go to Stillwater. There's a boat cruise there, a nice historic downtown and an excellent restaurant scene.

Much better than going through OKC and Amarillo. With the exception of 60 miles of crappy road in Oklahoma the road was great, no traffic at all. No snow, no wind, just a straight line on the GPS.
