You can use Expedia or other third party sites to compare rates, but then go directly to the rental car company's website to reserve. It's better not to get a third party involved, especially if there are any issues.

8 years ago. Even if the car rental is cancellable, I would think if you purchased a bundled package from Expedia and you try to cancel the car, that they will cancel the whole package. Usually bundles are at a bundle price and you can't unbundle them. I think you'll have to re-book the flight and the price of the flight might go up.
Also, it’s common knowledge to never buy insurance from a third party from which you are purchasing flights /lodging. When you buy a car, you don’t buy insurance from Mazda or Ford or Audi.
