Depending on the type of cell phone and type of plan you have, your own cell phone may work in Aruba. I have a GSM phone and have service with T-Mobile. Calls for me to/from the U.S. while in Aruba are $1.49/minute. Not exactly cheap but I only use my phone a few times and my cost over a 2 week period runs me about $40 for my phone calls.
Re: My Verizon cell phone on Tortola. Just returned from Tortola, using my verizon cell while on island. Verizon has several international choices that apply in BVI. I decided to use their Travelpass plan. For $10 per day (24 hour period), you're using your phone/plan as if in the USA for phone, text and data.
