Both companies offer an extra driver (or 2) for free. Budget is often the lowest price, but sometimes has the longest pick-up lines. Join FastBreak to avoid those lines.

Take the Costco/Alamo confirmation #, go to the Alamo site using your loyalty number. Look up your reservation with the # .

   They have a separate line for preferred customers, and he is in/out in a few minutes. He prefers to rent directly from Avis. The prices are about the same or slightly higher than DHCR. I guess he had a bad experience once with DHCR. And since he goes to Kauai so often, he just does not want to chance any issues. We are not Costco members.

   tony, I would see if you can talk to someone at Discount Hawaii Car Rental - they are a reputable agency in Hawaii that brokers rentals with the major car rental agencies (Avis, Enterprise, Budget, Alamo, etc.)
