Re: Free multi-stop online road trip itinerary planner? 10 years ago. Looks like Mapquest only allows 26, but allows 50 through their API. I think dividing your route into segments and then adding them together is a good idea. Or you could only put in stops where a significant detour is required.

It was launched in 1996 as the first commercial web mapping service. [1] MapQuest vies for market share with competitors such as Apple Maps, Here and Google Maps.
Google Maps caps your number of destinations at 25. Routexl.com will let you add 250 stops (!!!) but you have to pay money to get access to more than . . . 25. Are there any *free* route-planning/driving directions sites that let you put in more than 25 stops? Thanks for any suggestions.
As far as I can tell, Waze, Google, Mapquest, and many others have eliminated the ability to map driving directions using the shortest driving miles rather than driving time. Since, I never drive fast and hate patronizing interstates as much as root canal surgery, is there any free way to determine the shortest driving miles for a roadtrip?

Yes, me too. Plus I also look at paper maps. You have to take Google maps with a grain of salt, though. Drive times assume driving at full highway speed w/o stops or slowdowns for anything.
Answer 11 of 32: Hi everyone -- I'm planning a long driving itinerary in Andalucia Spain and I want to be able to enter a ton of stops -- like maybe 50 or so -- into an online route planner.
Agree with half-Brit ~ mapquest re-labels some roads. But Google Maps assumes you drive 55 miles per hour, even in 35 mph Yosemite ~ so Google Maps times are way off. If you use Google maps to lay out your route, you can move the markers to the route you prefer; just pick it up and drag it to the new location.
