   Answer 1 of 10: I've never used priceline but have been reading alot about it on the boards. I currently have a pretty good price with Alamo ($19 per day) for mid size car for a 3 week trip in the fall. This is using my costco membership discount.

Both are no obligation bookings, so you can continue to look for a better rate, right up until your trip. I've booked, cancelled and booked again - 8 times before a trip.

   I've looked into Hotwire and Priceline but have felt I've done better using discount codes to which I'm entitled and booking directly, or using Costco or USAA or AARP.    You can also google in car rental coupon codes. Recently I was submitting prices almost daily on priceline, & they weren't accepting my offer. I found a coupon code online that I submitted thru a national car rental chain & got a lower price than the offer priceline refused! I also had the option of changing my reservation (or canceling).

   Mindy, I've got a full size rental car booked with Alamo for Nascar Week, dates March 2- 8. The rates go up and down as You know, but I am now paying $140.82 (out the door). I started a topic about Alamo lowering prices (can't guarantee they are lower at this moment) but they were last night, and posted a $40 coupon.
