Hi travelers, wanted to share our experience with renting a car via Expedia through Thrifty Car Rentals at MCO in Orlando. More specially, the advertised " Compact or Larger -- We pick the car!" offered by Thrifty. The wording is misleading and lets one believe that the possibility of an upgrade for free exists, it does not.

After pre booking our hire car through Expedia and paying what we believed was the $160 USD for the 2 day hire, when we received the final account on our Visa card provided at the Thrifty counter, we had actually charged a further $246.38 USD fir the 2 day hire.

After standing in line for over an hour I was misled by the man looking after my rental. He told me that I had to upgrade to get a large car. I told him that I had booked a premium to get a large car.

Agree with above comment, Thrifty seems to have longer lines than the rest. I usually go with Avis as I get a good deal through Expedia and the lines are short if existent at all.
