    hi there. i can confirm a good 50% of the people speak english. all the streets are signed in english and chinese. and best thing is the kcr (train) and mtr (underground) has a automated service saying. the next stop is tsim sha tsui... it will then repeat in cantonese and also in manderin. you wont have a problem!!!

    12 years ago. I assumed English would be quite widely spoken in Hong Kong, and was surprised how few people could speak it, to anything more than a few words. I assume that perhaps its not taught so much anymore in the schools since the colony was handed back to China in 1997. Report inappropriate content.
