Technology is such that direct links from rental companies are imbedded in OTA, airline & other rental booking channels so you don’t book a rental car when a location is closed.

   Watch out for bait and switch format at Fox Car Rentals! Reserved a full size car in Oakland and was told that they were all out for "service". Settled for a midsize car and a small 15% credit and thus paid premium for the midsize car. They did this repeatedly one customer at a time. Stick with the three major rent a car companies.
