Uber rates have jumped a lot so yes sometimes metered taxis can be less but then you have to deal with traffic delays. Flat rate has been in Seattle for awhile. Seattle has a 'flat rate taxi zone' but not from where your staying. If you took monorail to downtown or a bus then any taxi is a flat $40 to seatac. 4.
