After 10+ years with President’s Circle status at Hertz, I’ve switched car rental companies after having to deal with the ATL airport Hertz every week for 6 months of business travel. Cars are never clean (always smell of weed, cigarettes, or like it was used as a bathroom).

Answer 11 of 19: I sent Hertz at Denver International Airport an e-mail inquiry about a charge that was added to my bill upon my returning it. To date - 2+ weeks later - I have not yet gotten a reply.
Then I called back and went through the same process again and again with a different customer service agents. I must have made about a dozen called to Hertz that morning. This was the poorest customer service experience I've experienced in my 30 plus years of travel. I've traveled to developing countries and never had such incompetent service.

On a different note, I rented a Hertz for 3 weeks, had an issue and tried numerous ways to contact Hertz. Emails, Facebook, direct to rental/return locations, even phone (apart from the emergency number). Now a month later and STILL waiting to hear from Hertz. Hertz customer service is non-existent in Europe.
