    Most subway stations don't have OMNY Card vending machines yet, and the $5 cost to buy an OMNY card at a convenience stores is a lot more than a $1 MetroCard. The people who can't use contactless cards should get MetroCards which are available in every station.

    May 5, 2024, 9:10 AM. I also think #6 has it backwards (at least in general if restaurants also add a surcharge for using cash - which seems odd). There is definitely a surcharge for using credit cards over cash. Some restaurants have altered their menus to list both prices but as said all of them need to disclose it.
