Jul 2020 • Couples. Highway 191 south out of Bozeman will take you through a narrow canyon, with the road hugging the beautiful Gallatin River all the way to Big Sky - about 50 miles. Dramatic cliffs hem in the road in certain pinch points making more of an impression. Plenty of turnouts along the way. Great drive.
South Dakota is the best part of the trip, in my opinion. If traveling further, Devil's Tower would be next, on way to Jackson Hole, WY, Tetons, Yellowstone, then wherever you are going from there. I wouldn't drive back to Denver. I would return home from Jackson, WY or Bozeman, MT.
