    So that the bank fee is not that much but the rates as mentioned are better -- some of our cards here do not have foreigh conversion fees so you may want to check. There are travel cards that have fixed exchange rate. So many options nowadays instead of carrying 100 and 50 dollar bills as tourists in a new country. Good luck

    If you booked direct, you were charged a first night room charge to hold the room. Your card will,upon check-in, have a "hold" of somewhere between $100-150 or so (it varies by property) placed on your card and released when you check out. The balance at check-out will be your remaining room nights, plus any and all charges you have incurred.

    I occasionally end up with a $50 or $100 bill. and have never really had a problem using them. The best way to deal with that is to make a purchase greater than $25 or so, and then pay with the $50 or $100. What you don't want to do is try to pay for a $2 candy bar with a $50 or $100 bill.
