There are also coupons you can use with Thrifty. $25 off a week rental (base). You need to book it online with that promo code AND print and present the coupon upon pick-up. On thrifty.com it is under international deals, enter in Cozumel , select pick up location, scroll down to find coupon and print.
Just concluded a 10 day rental in Cancun with Thrifty. My confirmed reservation thru American Airlines online was for about $5.60 per day. The 10 day rental actually cost me about $440, which was the balance AFTER applying the 2000 pesos I received from a VIDA (Grand Mayan) Resort "sales assistant" posing as a travel guide at the Thrifty office at Cancun Airport.
