I went through Hertz.com, logged into my account, used the "modify reservations" tab on the website to locate the reservation made through Priceline. The reservation number is on the Priceline confirmation you received by email. I made sure that my Hertz account had current driver's license, credit card info, etc.

Yes, contracts are binding but there's no contract until you sign the rental agreement. The reservation is just that, a reservation. I had a confirmed/verified booking through Expedia (booked 10 days earlier) with Hertz Quepos. When I showed up they didn't have my reservation on file and no car available for me to rent.

Not sure if this assists, but l have always found that when booking through a third party (ie a tour package), all entitlements and perks with companies like Hilton, Sheraton, Hertz etc (except for airlines miles) become nullified.
