Thanks. It appears there's no AAA discount on Hertz right now except for weekend and weekly rentals (I'm renting for 4 weekdays). Hertz has a 25% off discount coupon code, but it only allows one CDP code, so it won't let me enter my AAA information to get the free second driver.

I have booked a car for a week through Hertz using my AAA discount. This discount shaves off some money, and gives me unlimited free miles.
Enterprise Rental was very close to that price you quoted for Las Vegas when I did a mock booking for under 25 for your dates, and around $289 for LA, and is a well rated Car Rental Company. Even using temporary card from an AAA office is a good suggestion. Benefits appear to be decent, yes there are other services who may provide similar discounts but these all in one place. Hertz non charging of under 21 fees in NY would be a very big benefit for co driver on a 6 weeks road trip. Thanks again

Ok I will probably book through Hertz europe website using AAA coupon, which waves underage fee, but it says CDW and LDW is included and some additional insurance, but the terms and conditions are only some general USA conditions and its pretty complicated.
With any of the Major Car Rental Companies, the best thing to do is sign up for the Frequent Renter Program, such as Hertz #1 Gold.Basically you do all the "paperwork" in advance at home, and in most locations, bypass the counter and go straight to your vehicle (Electronic Boards show which space it is located at), and then just show your drivers license to the Security Staff at the exit.

The total trip will take roughly 2 weeks, so I'm trying to keep the rental cost down. I'm 21 and a AAA member, so Hertz makes the most sense as they waive the under 25 fee for AAA members.
