I'm going down for a week at the end of this month, and I want to get a cheap rental car. I usually use Hertz, but for some reason, their prices are inflated to over $500 for the week! I am demanding an explanation from Economy Rent a Car at the time I am writing this review. Hotwire "washed their hands" completely. So in short, you are dealing with more than one party (Economy Rent a Car works with Affiliates), THEY ARE NOT LOCATED AT THE AIRPORT, and a car that was advertised as $ 8 x day is really $ 29.27.
Hotwire is likely the cheapest, but ended up paying 50% because my flight was delayed 2 hours and had to pay for an extra day. I will never use hotwire on car rentals because of zero flexibility on flight changes that are out of my control.
