I've seen that people on this forum have said it's about a 3-3.5 hour drive. Mapquest is about the same. However, friends in KC claim that it's more like 5-6 hours, especially on weekends.

Hello, my family will be in Kansas City at the beginning of Jan. We are looking to add on to our trip and spend a few days skiing. ( my teens have skied in colorado 2 times are beginner/intermediate skiers) . Is there any place within a days drive (6-8 hours) that offers skiing with lodging & restaurants on site, preferably ski in ski out lodging.

Salina has many more options for food and lodging. Both cities have a lot to do, though Old Abilene town is far down my picks.
