We're checking into taking an Uber from our hotel in Port Canaveral to the space center and back when it closes. I've seen posts by people that were on a cruise saying they got to the space center and then were stranded there at the end of the day and couldn't get an Uber to return.

I personally wouldn't want to try it because the possibility of not matching with a driver, especially while I was at the Kennedy Space Center trying to get home. Renting a car is probably the most affordable option.
