It has much better pricing on bakery goods, alcohol, milk, meat. If your condo has a good-size freezer, you can freeze baked goods and meat. Bring anything like condiments that you'd have to buy in greater bulk than you'd use. Cereal is expensive here -- don't know why. Call up the Times and Safeway weekly ads online.

And some Target stores have more food than others. And for a few things, like cereal, CVS and Walgreens and Rite Aid sale items can be the cheapest around.

Nov 22, 2023, 12:55 PM. Safeway Lahainas deli and butcher were closed the last time we went. But that could change in a day. Napili Market could be convenience but it is the most expensive. Times in the Honokowai Marketplace is a full sized market and fully open and has excellent pharmacists.
It sells for $7.50 or more here. (Amazes me that enough people buy it for Safeway to carry it.) You can pick up the salt and pepper twin packs here, but if you want seasonings, they are going to be $6 a pop for a spice or herb, you that is why people bring a little assortment of their favorites.
