Answer 1 of 8: I respect that people need to make a living and a business needs a bottom line. I resent that that bottom line is at the expense of the customers they are trying to appeal to.
I guess I'll find out about the senior fare when we get on the bus and ask the driver. $1.50 is better than $3.00 but not a big deal. As for the cable car, at $8.00 a ride, I guess it is not really a viable means of transportation any more, just a tourist attraction. We have ridden it a couple of times on past trips.
I have tried all the sites suggested and always end up booking with the rental company directly. I just booked 11 days with thrifty for $ 313.00 total ( including the crazy fees ) for a wild car.
Renting a car for only 1 or 2 days at the casinos is always higher than the rates at the airport. You'll be hard pressed to find a 1 day rental for much less than $60 as you did.
Sorry you had such a bad experience. I do think most of what you described is pretty standard for all rental car companies, though.. My rules for dealing with rental car companies: 1. confirm open hours and on-airport status directly (had those go wrong several times - imagine waiting at an airport after a redeye for an hour for the rental car employees to arrive); 2.
