Just because a credit card offers coverage in Ireland, it does NOT mean that every car rental company ACCEPTS that coverage.

Before your arrival buy a one year car hire all-inclusive insurance policy valid for a year in whatever region you choose I.e. Europe, USA etc. You may find that even if you only hire a car for one week in the year the policy cost will be less than any rentacars policy which always horrific ripoff.
