We made a reservation at Budget Car rental at the San Jose airport a couple weeks back. However, recently while reading the review comments online, I noticed several negative comments and experiences.

We needed a vehicle to fit 2 adults and our 4 older (taller) teens and luggage. We rented through VAMOS RENT-A-CAR with pick-up/drop-off at the San Jose airport.

Hi. Our family is flying into San Jose tomorrow and I feel so confused by all the conflicting posts about the different car rental companies and the cars they rent. Some car rental companies list the same exact car stating they hold a different amount of passengers and luggage etc. It is NOT 2 passengers 2 suitcases vs 4 passengers 0 suitcases.

4. Re: Budget car rental. Dec 15, 2023, 11:45 AM. Check their Costa Rica website for info about insurance and costs: https://budget.co.cr. Their description of insurance is a little cryptic if you don’t realize that basic 3rd party liability insurance is absolutely required in addition to the rental car cost.
