2. Re: Rental car and toll question. Oct 30, 2023, 10:48 PM. EZ Tag will not work with a rental car. When you travel through a non-manned toll booth a camera takes a picture of your license plate. When the photo gets processed, if the plate is registered with EZTag (or TX Tag) then it deducts the cost from the ballance.
