   What a history, what downtown character and what a great little campground with electric hookups for only $20 a night. The campground is in the city park which includes picnic area, playground and a very nice rodeo arena. Campground restrooms were spotless and it was very quiet with only one other site occupied the night we stayed.

Prices may be lowering as rental agencies replenish their lost inventory, but ~$100/ day for a rental SUV may be a permanent average cost. If you have a group of 3-4, renting a vehicle may cost less than shuttles and taxis.

   Recently (2/2 – 2/17/23), I rented a car from SIXT at the Maui airport. They provided me a car in pristine condition with low miles. I had a minor billing issue with SIXT when returning the car which they quickly resolved. I have used SIXT several times in Maui. They have always been courteous and easy to deal with.
