Thanks. It appears there's no AAA discount on Hertz right now except for weekend and weekly rentals (I'm renting for 4 weekdays). Hertz has a 25% off discount coupon code, but it only allows one CDP code, so it won't let me enter my AAA information to get the free second driver.
A AAA member fir over 20 yrs.... The membership is worth it. The maps are free so if you are traveling that is $20 or more in maps and guide books. On top of it you get. AAA rate for hotels which is about a 10% discount on hotels. You also get AAA service from travel agents.

So the insurance might be quite an additional expense when renting for 30 days. And no, Amex won't cover one rental car for 30 days and then a different one back-to-back for 30 more days even from a different rental car company. You might have to get creative renting for a certain amount of time, taking the weekend off, then renting again etc.
