    The rates have magically dropped back to $30 a day for Alamo and $18 a day for Hotwire for the dates of January 13 to 16. Who knows why, but now I might book with Alamo. $30 a day I can handle, but when it goes up to $50 plus taxes, that's high. Almost like a plane ticket, except it's for a rental car.
