It was because of these new rules that I recently signed up with KLM Flying Blue frequent flyer program. The question that I have is, how can I maximize my SkyMiles benefits in 2024 (avail of priority check in, priority boarding, free checked bags) while accumulating Flying Blue XPs?

Re: KLM Flying Blue Scheme a joke? 4 years ago. It is a joke to try to use the points for a hotel. You will need to pay the double or triple price of a normal hotel and still add big amounts of loyalty points. It is cheaper without the points to get a better and cheaper hotel. Report inappropriate content.
Air France-KLM's frequent flyer program, Flying Blue, awards miles based on the distance traveled, ticket fare and class of service. As well as KLM and Air France, other airlines that adopted the Flying Blue programme include Transavia, Aircalin, and TAROM. Membership in the program is free.

Has anyone experienced the 'negative' effect of the new rules for Flying Blue program? My bf got around 50,000 miles taken off his account. These were the miles he earned before 1 April 2009. A bit unfair, I say. More so because he did not know it was going to happen. Of course KLM put the information online, but who surfs KLM website every day???
