It's an early morning flight get there at 4am. If during the middle of the day than sure 3 hrs to be extra safe. Roads are empty in the morning. 2. Re: When to be at airport. I'm planning on visiting the Grand Canyon in October or early November time, I'm just a bit unsure of which airport to fly into, Las Vegas or Phoenix.. I know Phoenix is an 100-110 miles or so extra, but I've heard it offers better views than the drive from LV.
