It's hard to say how old the photos are. I don't know what you are using to view the images. I have looked at Google Maps, Map Quest, and Google Earth. Generally Google Earth has the best images but not always. Google Earth has better zoom capabilities but it's a downloaded program. I think it's great. I have also seen older images show up.

At maximum zoom level it is 2009 in West End, It varies around the Island, At CCV it is July 5th 2013, , This is not a date in the lower right but rather the "imagery date" left of the coordinates.
I have Google Earth and they say the maps are composites of fly over w/aircraft and satellite. More populous areas have better pics. But, they aren't real time.
