Requiring the credit card used to purchase the ticket at check-in is not out of the ordinary and a prepaid debit card may or may not suffice.

Then my visa worked an hour later at a restaurant. My CIBC debit card worked at Banamex in Nov and won’t anymore, but does at other banks.
