6. Re: Using GPS (Garmin) from USA to use in the UK. 5 years ago. In order to use your Garmin whilst driving in UK, you need the UK maps to be installed. You can purchase these maps on Garmin site. It will cost you, but IMHO it is worth it. Whether you've got data coverage is totally irrelevant here.

Couldn't find a vendor at the airport so got it in Prague on Národní. All worked well driving around Czechia but the rep didn't mention turning on roaming when Vienna.
