   At the moment I've only started looking on Hertz and Alamo websites, but finding the same curious situation. If I sign into Alamo with our Insiders account, or Hertz with our Gold Plus details, I get higher prices - up to $200 for a 2 week rental - than if it just go on the website as a guest.

Not for Alamo, but if you wish to consider Hertz, and may use a Marriott hotel during your trip, their reward scheme offers a decent discount on all bookings with Hertz, BTW, and can be used on Hertz's .co.uk website, and still include the insurances. Most of the discount codes from random searching do not allow ...

   Palmdale, California. Level Contributor. 1,405 posts. Any reason to avoid Dollar/Thrifty? 2 years ago. I'm looking at my rental options for early December. Hertz Corp's Dollar/Thrifty (but not Hertz) are $35/d. Both Avis/Budget and Alamo/National (but not Enterprise) groups are all $58/d.

If the rate is an AS deal that is pay now, you cannot add your membership number, but may be able to do so at the counter of the rental agency. Boo.

   Nov 2, 2023, 1:36 PM. Hertz used to be good, but it's reputation has taken a hit. Last year it was fined US$168 million for sleazy business practices, and a corporate culture like that doesn't go away very easily. I haven't heard of any scandals regarding Alamo, not that I've been looking for any.

Some of these don't work with every combination of Coupon Code but they do work. They also at times include the taxes & such so keep checking.
