car rental Dubai- deposit not being refunded! Advise please- we rented a car from a car rental company back in July. They charged a deposit and advised it would be returned subject to any fine deductions. We are now back in the UK and nearly 3 months later and after several chases they keep saying they will send the refund but have not.
Do not rent from Thrifty Dubai car rental they are scammers! 2 years ago. -5 Stars. This is a major scam rental car company which rips off tourists. They promise a cheap deal but they scam you out of the deposit. They told me it takes a month for the deposit to be refunded. After a month the deposit was not refunded. I called and inquired.

Hi Sinan, There are speed cameras everywhere in Dubai and that is why all major car rental companies require a minimum deposit on the card so that they can charge you in case there is a fine. However, there are a few companies that do accept 750 AED as deposit for a small car.

I hired a car from Speedy car hire in Dubai in June. They deducted 1000 UAE £200 deposit which they said was refundable. Up to now the deposit has not been refunded after 4 months and hundreds of people are saying the same thing these guys are Credit Card fraudsters and thieves
