Enterprise, National, and Alamo policy is they won't accept Visa credit cards that have the word "Debit" on them. That doesn't mean that they won't take them, but you could get someone that is a stickler for policy.

Priceline has some sort of arrangement for people w/o credit cards where they put a hold on your debit card for like $200-300 and release it when you return the car. It's essentially a deposit, but it doesn't require a credit card. Report inappropriate content.
