   Thanks. It appears there's no AAA discount on Hertz right now except for weekend and weekly rentals (I'm renting for 4 weekdays). Hertz has a 25% off discount coupon code, but it only allows one CDP code, so it won't let me enter my AAA information to get the free second driver.

   Hertz owns Thrifty and the Hertz website says that only California and Ohio have free-additional-spouse as of 2016. Apparently Alamo/National has not caught up with the expiration of the old law, but yes you will pay $13 per day with Thrifty.

"So my understanding is the Unauthorized driver really only comes into play if you have taken the rental car companies insurance, and in the situation something happens accident, theft whatever, that the unauthorized driver was driving, they would void the insurance.
