Do not drive out on Saturday morning unless you leave early, before 9 am at the latest. No need to go to LGA or JFK to get a car. Just pick one up on the east side somewhere close to the midtown tunnel and head east. The time spent getting to an out of town car rental will be longer than the time spent in traffic.
