The trip now has to be shortened to 6 days and I'll need to return the car early. If I rebook that trip, I'll end up paying $1020 now for the 6 days.
x94cherry is correct. 2 days 14 hrs. is considered 3 days so your $25 coupon will be accepted. Now if you return the car after 1 day 23 hrs. that coupon is invalid since you have to keep the car for 3 days to qualify. You get dinged when you rent for over 4 days & get the weekly rate then turn it in early when you wouldn't qualify for the rate ...
Alamo is on Level 4. You need to drive your rental car up the ramps to Level 4 inside the garage to return it. After returning your car, follow the signs to "SFO Terminals" or "AirTrains". They should all around inside the garage directing customers. If you don't want to take elevators, there are always stairs.

We were due to drop it off at 5pm but we were 2 hours early. We checked the car back in with no dramas. 2 days after arriving home we were slapped with a $402 charge on the credit card.
